Yes, the Detroit Shock were one of the first WNBA expansion teams and began playing in 1998 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Shock won three WNBA championships in 2003, 2006, and 2008.

The Detroit Shock moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in October 2009. The team retained its name an roster but changed it's colors to black, red, and gold. The team then relocated to Dallas prior to the 2016 season and is now called the Dallas Wings.
