FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

The Women’s National Basketball Association is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sports and entertainment experience. WNBA fans have a right to expect an environment where there is No Space For Hate:

  • Players and fans respect and appreciate each other
  • Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all arena and team personnel.
  • Guests will enjoy the basketball experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and obscene gestures.
  • Guests will consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Interven­tion with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when re­quested.
  • Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the court will be immediately ejected from the arena.
  • Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
  • Guests will comply with requests from arena staff regarding arena operations and emergency response procedures.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the arena

The arena staff has been trained to intervene when necessary to help ensure that the above expectations are met, and guests are encouraged to report any inappro­priate behavior to the nearest usher, security guard, or guest services staff member. Guests who choose not to adhere to this Code of Conduct will be subject to penalty including but not limited to, ejection, without refund, revocation of their season tickets, and/or prevention from attending future games. Guests must immediately leave the premises if ejected. They may also be in violation of local ordinances resulting in possible arrest and prosecution.

DIGITAL COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

The WNBA and its team web pages and social media pages unite our fans. We want every fan to feel a part of our community. We stand, united as a League, against any offensive or discriminatory content. There is No Space For Hate.

If any individual or entity violates any of the guidelines, your account and comments are subject to blocking or deletion. Specifically, this prohibited content includes:

  • Posts that contain abusive, sexist, racist, homophobic, offensive or obscene remarks, gestures, symbols, or images
  • Posts that contain violence, condone violence or incite violence, fighting, threatening, taunting, endorsing or promoting verbal harassment.
  • Posts that are discriminatory towards people with disabilities
  • Posts that are discriminatory towards people based on their religion or beliefs
  • Posts that constitute sexual harassment, including posts that are deemed obscene, lewd, contain nudity, or are sexual in nature
  • Posts that use profanity, defamatory, libelous, offensive, abusive, discriminatory, disparaging or demeaning content (including images, videos and links)
  • Posts that include, promote or condone any illegal behavior
  • Posts that are commercial in nature, promoting or selling products and services, or attempting to recruit our fans and followers
  • Posts that are excessively repetitive, are spam in nature, and/or disruptive to the community
  • Posts that contain proprietary, trademarked, confidential, sensitive, or non-public information
  • Posts that don't follow the appropriate platform guidelines

Repeat violations of these guidelines may result in the violator no longer being able to follow our news, comment on our posts or send us messages.  Additionally, any direct threats to players, referees or other league and team personnel may be referred to law enforcement and may result in the violator being banned from all WNBA arenas and events.
